Putting a little fun into your ride
New Belgium’s Tour de Fat helps us put the enjoyable part of our mission into action. 20,000 fun-loving cyclists parading through town epitomizes fun.
“Wonderful organizations such as Bike Fort Collins inspire New Belgium Brewing Company to deepen our relationships with our local like-minded non-profit partners. One of the greatest Bike Fort Collins projects, the Bike Library, helped make Fort Collins achieve the Platinum Status that we so proudly were awarded in 2013. It’s amazing to live in a town where riding a bicycle is an important transportation option that is recognized by our City and is fostered by wonderful non-profits like Bike Fort Collins.”—Michael Craft, New Belgium Brewing Company
For one day the city revolves around the bike
New Belgium Brewing’s Tour de Fat is our largest annual fundraiser. Each year this cycling spectacle crosses the United States, but Fort Collins is home base. While having fun and helping out at this marquee event Bike Fort Collins raises between $10,000 and $12,000 each year. Simultaneously raising awareness for cycling, the Tour de Fat also allows us to do good in our community year-round.
Tour de Fat is bike-friendly fun for the whole family. The parade, live music, sideshows, and non-profit groups combine to make a great outlet for cyclists. It blends environmental stewardship with flat-out joy. All this fun means a lot of volunteers to make sure the day goes off as wonderfully as it should.
Volunteering at the tour is a blast. How many times can you volunteer while wearing a ridiculous costume and drinking great beer?
Each year we need around 200 volunteers; this year we need you.
