After a hiatus from summer Bike to Work Day, Fort Collins showed up in numbers with almost 6,000 participants and over 22,000 breakfast station visits! New for this year, Bike Fort Collins had not one, but two locations at both Oak Street Plaza AND Remington and Lake. We are most grateful to our breakfast station partners including: Mugs, HSD Law, Spin, Tandem Real Estate, and Rainbow Restaurant. We are especially grateful to rainbow for coming in at the last minute and providing 300 burritos for the Remington location. Although the Remington Bike Count record continues to elude us in our attempts to beat the record of 1,737 set back on September 2, 2017 for Tour de Fat, folks came out in numbers and did their best to contribute to the cause.
Following with tradition, the day’s events wrapped up at Odell Brewing where they graciously hosted the Bike From Work Bash. In addtion to the notorius FREE beer that travelers by bike received, this year’s bash included live music from the Poudre Valley Playboys, door prizes from Odell, Otter Box, Thule, and Trek and of course lots of fun BFC swag. We are most grateful to Odell Brewing for their continued support and to all of our amazing volunteers for the donation of their time, energy and enthusiasm for all things bikes here in Fort Collins.
Look for us at Winter Bike to Work Day for more of the same at our two new locations and maybe next time we will finally reach our Remington Bike Count goal.
