BIKE TO WORK DAY

BIKE TO “WHEREVER” DAY DURING COVID-19

Summer Bike to Work Day in 2020 was postponed to September 22nd due to COVID-19 pandemic precautions. Additionally, due to the prevalence of remote working, it’s name was changed to Bike to Wherever Day–as part of the City’s broader city-wide Shift Your Ride Month.

Watch our social media and The Pedal Post eNewsletter for more for more information on “Bike to Work/Wherever Day,” as spring/summer gets closer, but if nothing else, make plans to ride your bike somewhere on June 23….even if it’s around the block.

SHIFT YOUR RIDE MONTH

Bike Fort Collins was proud to be support the City of Fort Collins’ month long focus to Shift Your Ride in September 2020. By making simple choices about how we move around, we can shift extra time and money to things that really matter, like spending time with our family, clean air and crisp mountain views, or getting and staying fit. While the focus was September, everyday is a good day to Shift to what matters most to you.

ABOUT BIKE TO WORK DAY

Bike to Work Day (BTWD) is a City of Fort Collins hosted event, that is normally celebrated twice a year:

  • Once each summer in June, in conjunction with Colorado Bike Month, and
  • Again in the winter on the second Tuesday of December, as a great reason to ride your bike in, sometimes, frigid temperatures.

Independent of the season, this event entails just what it says, riding your bike to work. Except on this day it includes 25-60 bike station sponsors spread throughout the city’s low-stress network of bikeways and bike trails, providing everything from food, drink, music, fun and camaraderie as you make your way to work.

Bike Fort Collins is proud to participate at a station during each Bike to Work Day. We use this page, our social media and and The Pedal Post eNewsletter to communicate where we’ll be each day, encouraging people to stop by for some BFC schwag, to talk about bikes and to take our Legal or Not Quiz (if you haven’t taken it here on our website)–as well as encourgage folks to join the cuminating celebration to the day, the Bike From Work Bash, traditionally held at O’Dell’s Brewing.

We typically can always use volunteers to help host our station each Bike to Work Day. While this year is different, feel free to still raise-your-hand now, so we can keep you more informed of future events. Learn more/Sign-up
