ABOUT BIKE TO WORK DAY
Bike to Work Day (BTWD) is a City of Fort Collins hosted event, that is normally celebrated twice a year:
- Once each summer in June, in conjunction with Colorado Bike Month, and
- Again in the winter (February), as a great reason to ride your bike in, sometimes, frigid temperatures.
Independent of the season, this event entails just what it says, riding your bike to work. Except on this day it includes 25-60 bike station sponsors spread throughout the city’s low-stress network of bikeways and bike trails, providing everything from food, drink, music, fun and camaraderie as you make your way to work.
Bike Fort Collins is proud to participate at a station during each Bike to Work Day. We use this page, our social media and and The Pedal Post eNewsletter to communicate where we’ll be each day, encouraging people to stop by for some BFC schwag, to talk about bikes and to take our Legal or Not Quiz (if you haven’t taken it here on our website)–as well as encourgage folks to join the cuminating celebration to the day, the Bike From Work Bash, traditionally held at O’Dell’s Brewing.
We typically can always use volunteers to help host our station each Bike to Work Day. While this year is different, feel free to still “raise your hand” now, so we can keep you more informed of future events. Learn more/Sign-up
SHIFT YOUR RIDE CHALLENGE!
Bike Fort Collins wants you to get behind the City of Fort Collins program and Shift Your Ride. Shifting your ride can be easy! There are many ways to get around Fort Collins without using a car, even if you have extra errands to run. While the city has compiled a number of resources on City of Fort Collins Shift Your Ride Page to help you get out of your car and actually enjoy other transportation options (like scooters, walking or transit), of course and as you might expect…We’re partial to bikes.
