Bike Fort Collins is overjoyed with the outpouring of community and bike fanfare at this year’s Bike to Work/Wherever Day! With 51 breakfast stations located throughout the city and even a handful of afternoon stations, we are truly humbled by the generosity and overall community support of our local businesses. We enjoyed sharing a station at the Oak Street Plaza with a variety of downtown businesses including Western States Bank, The Rio, Jay’s Bistro, the Crooked Cup, and Sugar Beets Cycling. In addition to a new stock of fun swag to hand out, we also distributed our new “What to Do in a Bike Accident” cards sponsored by HSD Law with legal input from Sara Steiben. These cards offer a handy list of what to do in the unfortunate event that you are injured on your bike.
Riding through the streets of Fort Collins on June 23rd, the streets were brimming with bike commuters and breakfast stations and hope for even more bicycle friendly days to come. As always, we are forever grateful to our BFC volunteers, Sam Altman, Suzanne Parent, Kurt Freiburg, Jill Mamini, Bruce Henderson, and Lisa Butler who helped out at the breakfast station and we look forward to seeing you all again for Winter Bike to Work Day in December!
