Over the past 25 years, Tour de Fat has evolved into a Fort Collins tradition, raising nearly $6 million for local bike nonprofits across the country. As this year’s Tour de Fat has come to a close, we want to express our gratitude to everyone who made it unforgettable. Hundreds of volunteers joined in the fun, assisting with parade support, managing beer sales, staffing information booths, and helping with cleanup. Your efforts were instrumental in making this year’s event a success. We hope you enjoyed the free beers after your shifts and the epic volunteer appreciation event with fantastic prizes.
This year’s Tour de Fat was as vibrant and engaging as ever. The parade wound through a three-mile loop on Mountain Avenue, featuring an impressive array of creative costumes and bike modifications. From a giant Fat Tire beer can to the 18 foot pirate ship and the Wizard of Oz themed bike, the streets were alive with color and imagination. The parade culminated at New Belgium Brewing, where attendees enjoyed a lively atmosphere filled with great food, music, and a wide selection of delicious beers. New Belgium’s generous donation of all proceeds from merchandise sales to several deserving bike nonprofits, including Bike Fort Collins, SendTown Bike Club, Overland Mountain Bike Association, and the Fort Collins Bike Co-op, provided crucial support for local biking initiatives and fostered community spirit.
