Since beginning the Active Living program in 2016, we observed a well used and loved playground at the end of its lifespan be removed. The area then sat empty and idle for some time until recently. Based on the obvious need, the resident coalition had identified the installation of a new playground as high priority within their Active Living Plans.

In collaboration with the mobile home park ownership and management, we installed a new play structure this past week! This play structure, contracted through BCI Burke, includes two slides, various climbers, monkey bars, and a swing set.

PVMHP residents decided to do a “community install” for the playground equipment, which lowered the overall cost and enabled community members to celebrate the opening of the playground with their families and children. Since then, neighborhood youth have been playing on the equipment rain, snow, or shine.
