As of August 6 and August 10 respectively, the Bohemian Foundation and New Belgium Brewing have made the conscientious and courageous decisions to cancel the Bohemian Light Music Festival and cancel the Tour de Fat this year. While this is certainly disappointing news, we understand their decisions were made out of an abundance of caution over the COVID-10 Delta variant and in the interst of the health and safety of our community. We thank all who had signed-up to volunteer as these event dates approached and hope you’ll still be open to volunteering at a future time. And, we thank the Bohemian Foundation and New Belgium Brewing for including BFC in these events. Stay safe Fort Collins.

BOHEMIAN LIGHT MUSIC FESTIVAL – AUGUST 14 & 15

Bike Fort Collins could use your help. We need to staff a couple big, but fun events in August, from which Bike Fort Collins will benefit greatly. Please consider volunteering, as these events will help enable us to continue to serve our mission of More Bikes. Safe Streets.

We’re excited to announce that Bike Fort Collins and Overland Mountain Bike Association (OMBA) have been invited to be the nonprofit beer service hosts for the Bohemian Light Music Festival, August 14-15. It’s an amazing opportunity for us to build support and fundraise for the cycling community while helping support such a crucial and fun event for the entire Fort Collins community.

Produced by Bohemian Nights, they are planning a scaled-back 2021 festival to ensure proper safety protocol as COVID-19 remains a concern for large events, but we’ll still need TONS of volunteer help (hundreds!) to make it happen.

So please save these dates, as Volunteer benefits will include entry to festival performances during shifts (which will have limited capacity), plus a cool T-shirt–not to mention that serving beer is fun!

TOUR DE FAT – AUGUST 28

And, as you may have heard through the grapevine already, New Belgium Brewing’s Tour de Fat will be taking place this year too. Just 2-weeks after the Bohemian Light Music Festival, on August 28.

Tour de Fat features a day packed full of FREE festivities celebrating beer, bikes, and bemusement. Over its 21-year history, Tour de Fat has raised nearly $6 million dollars for local bike nonprofits nationally and Bike Fort Collins is fortunate and grateful to have been a beneficiary for most of those years.

As with previous years, we’ll need TONS (hundreds!) of volunteers for this event too, so please save this date as well.

We’ll be sending out an email with a sign-up link the week of July 12 for both events that will have specific date/shift slots across various stages/serving locations for the music festival, and various roles for Tour de Fat.

In the meantime, if you haven’t “raised your hand” as a volunteer with us, please click the button, and do so, as it will help us to not only gauge numbers, but streamline our ability to communicate with you on both events going forward. Thank you in advance.

Be Sure to check the Bohemian Light Music Festival and/or Tour de Fat box(es).
