Despite the frosty morning air, Fort Collins’ cycling spirit was on full display at this year’s Winter Bike to Work Day! Our station at Oak Street Plaza saw an impressive 350+ riders roll through between 7 and 9:30 a.m., proving that a little cold can’t stop our dedicated bike community. With a grand total of 1,500 cyclists hitting the streets for this winter event, it’s safe to say that Fort Collins continues to pedal strong, no matter the season!
BFC was thrilled to co-host our station alongside Rio Grande Restaurant and Horner Painting, who kept riders fueled with delicious breakfast burritos (because nothing pairs better with a morning ride than a warm, tasty burrito, right?). We were also joined by City of Fort Collins Utilities & Solar, City of Fort Collins Parking Services, Health District of Northern Larimer County, and Machmer Media, who brought an awesome photo booth to capture those frosty but smiling faces! As always, we had great conversations about all things bicycling and bicycle safety. Many riders put their knowledge to the test with our Legal or Not Quiz, and we were stoked to add nearly 100 new signatures to our growing list of supporters for Our Vision to be the Amsterdam of the U.S. when it comes to cycling.
A huge THANK YOU to the 87 local businesses and organizations that hosted stations across town, providing free breakfasts and tasty treats to keep riders fueled and happy. Your generosity and enthusiasm are what make Fort Collins the incredible bike-friendly city that it is!
What better way to cap off a day of winter riding than with a Bike From Work Bash? As we’ve done for the past 12 years, BFC and our friends at O’Dell Brewing welcomed nearly 200 bike enthusiasts for a FREE pint and the chance to win some amazing door prizes from Trek Fort Collins, NoCo InCycle, Topo Designs, and O’Dell Brewing. A huge thanks to Fort Collins Connexion for co-hosting the event with us!
We’re also incredibly grateful to O’Dell Brewing for their continued support in hosting this post-ride celebration. Through the event, we raised nearly $300 in support of BFC’s mission and programs—cheers to that!
None of this would have been possible without our rockstar volunteers who braved the cold to help at both our Bike to Work Station and the Bike From Work Bash: Ann Temple, Kathy Fahy, Bill Thomas, Jean Macheledt, and Jan Buecher. We truly appreciate your time, energy, and commitment to making these events a success.
Winter Bike to Work Day was a blast, and we’re already looking forward to the 37th annual Summer Bike to Work Day and the Summer Bike from Work Bash on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, volunteered, and rode—it’s your passion for biking that keeps this community rolling strong.
See you on the road (or trail)!
