Fort Collins’ beloved annual tradition, the 36th Summer Bike to Work Day, saw an impressive turnout, reinforcing the city’s commitment to active transportation. Thousands of enthusiastic participants took to their bikes, walked, or used other forms of active transportation, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere throughout the community. This year’s event featured over 150 stations, highlighting the extensive support and dedication of the community towards promoting sustainable and healthy transportation options.
Community Engagement Shines Bright
Among the numerous stations scattered across the city, Bike Fort Collins was once again thrilled to host a station at the Oak Street Plaza. This year, our station partners played a crucial role in making the event a success. We extend our deepest gratitude to City of Fort Collins Utilities, The Cupboard, Pedego Electric Bikes, Signarama Fort Collins, HSD Law, Health District of Northern Larimer County, Shelley Schaffer Photography, Horner Painting, and our bike mechanic Alex Havorka. Their contributions ensured that the morning was not only energizing but also enjoyable for all attendees, fostering a strong sense of community spirit.
Vibrant Closing Ceremonies at CSU Oval
The closing ceremonies were a highlight of the day, taking place at the picturesque CSU Oval. The atmosphere was electric, with live music performed by the talented Eastwood and Holly, adding to the festive mood. A significant moment of the event was the recognition of Rich Brewbaker, who was honored with the prestigious Golden Handlebar award for his outstanding contributions to the cycling community. Councilmember Tricia Canonico delivered inspiring closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of active transportation and its positive impact on the community’s health and environment.
Celebratory Bike from Work Bash at Odell Brewing
As the day’s activities came to a close, the celebrations continued at Odell Brewing with the 16th annual Bike from Work Bash. Cyclists eagerly lined up to enjoy their complimentary beer or wine, generously provided by Odell Brewing, and engaged in the festive atmosphere filled with fun BFC swag. The crowd was entertained by the lively tunes of the Retreads Band while awaiting the announcement of the big door prize winners. Excitement peaked as participants discovered the recipients of the new Pure Cycle single-speed bike, generously donated by Recycled Cycles, and an Electra Beach Cruiser from Trek Fort Collins. In addition to these grand prizes, a variety of other fantastic prizes were awarded, including offerings from Topo Design, Road 34, ProVelo, InCycle, Bandwagon, and Odell Brewing, with over $2,000 in prizes distributed overall.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Odell Brewing for their unwavering support and to our amazing volunteers for their time, energy, and enthusiasm for all things bike-related in Fort Collins.
