On Wednesday, March 5th, Bike Fort Collins joined fellow bicycle advocates at the Colorado State Capitol for Safe Streets Day, a powerful day of advocacy dedicated to making biking and walking safer across the state. It was an inspiring opportunity to connect with legislators, share impactful stories, and push for meaningful policy changes—truly democracy in action.

Throughout the day, we engaged in crucial conversations with lawmakers, urging their support for bike- and pedestrian-friendly legislation. Whether through in-person meetings, emails, letters, or phone calls, these efforts help shape a future where all Coloradans can move safely and confidently on our streets.

A huge thank you to the sponsors who made this event possible: Bicycle Colorado, AAA Colorado, ColoBikeLaw.com, It Could Be Me, and Shift Events. Your support fuels this important work.

We also want to give a special shoutout to the young advocates and leaders of Boulder Junior Cycling and Front Rangers Cycling Club for stepping up and setting an example. Your commitment to safer streets is an inspiration to us all.

Together, we’re making Colorado a better place to bike and walk—one conversation, one policy, and one ride at a time.
