Bike Fort Collins is pleased to have been able to tune-up and fix nearly 100 residents’ bikes from the following mobile home parks in June: Hickory Village, Poudre Valley and Cloverleaf.

During the weeks of June 14 and June 21 Bike Fort Collins had mechanics out at Soft Gold Park in North Fort Collins on weekday evenings, as well as all-day each Saturday tuning bikes and fixing flats for those who otherwise might not be able to afford getting their bike fixed at a retail bike shop. All with the overall goal to simply help make bikes ride-able and enable folks to get back out on them.

Made possible by the Larimer County Department of Health & the Built Environment, and working with representatives there, Bike Fort Collins coordinated with Community Champions within each mobile home park neighborhood to schedule tune-up appointments with residents. In total, BFC tuned 87 bikes across the three communities.

“It was incredibly rewarding to be part of this project and connecting with these communities. I love to work on bikes regardless, but to see the immediate impact of my work, was just amazing. One of the coolest things I’ve done professionally.”
